Position Description

We are seeking a highly-motivated Project Coordinator with strong work ethics, a natural problem-solver with advanced communication and interpersonal skills, a positive 'can do' attitude and a passion for project administration for a long-term contract. High standards of quality, performance and reliability are required as is the ability / willingness to work onsite at our client in Ottawa.

 

This person will be responsible for supporting the success of the project working closely with the Project Manager as needed on project templates, deliverables and project plan.

 

Typical tasks and activities associated with role include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Assist the Project Manager in developing and maintaining/updating the project control and reporting documents;
  • Liaison, on behalf of the Project Manager, with technical and business project team members to obtain status updates;
  • Assist project team members in performing administrative tasks to support project tasks and activities;
  • Use MS Office (including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Visio) to perform work;
  • Use MS Project to update the project schedule;
  • Use document management software to perform work;
  • Maintain documents and track the change requests;
  • Coordinate project team meetings and events and prepare minutes/notes; and
  • Support the Project Manager with other project responsibilities as requested.

 

Must Have Skills:

 

  • Candidate must have a minimum of 4 years of project coordination experience
  • Experience with organization change management
  • Previous experience supporting federal government projects
  • Superior MS-Office, MS-Project and document management software skills
  • Valid SECRET clearance to be able to start on projects immediately

Preferred Skills:

 

  • ITIL certification or experience with ITSM projects
  • Large consulting firm experience highly desirable

Professional Skills:

 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention-to-detail skills
  • Ability to work with Executives
  • Strong coordination / multi-tasking skills
