    Position Description

    Are you a dynamic leader that hungers to drive change and constantly strives to improve and evolve IT environments?  

     

    As the Director of Virtualization and Server Technologies you will lead and mentor a team of engineers responsible for building, designing, and maintaining enterprise systems that run enterprise applications.  Working in a collaborative environment with other IT leaders you will help propel our clients and their technology forward to meet business needs and goals.    

     

    Responsibilities:

    • Collaborate with other Infrastructure leaders to design and implement solutions that align with business goals
    • Supervise local and remote staff members while providing training, mentoring, and direction 
    • Set individual and team goals, prepare development plans, conduct performance reviews, and prioritize the workload of the team
    • Ensure project work is completed on schedule and within budget
    • Communicate project plan and status updates proactively
    • Provide support when necessary to assist, troubleshoot, or diagnose complex issues in all areas of IT
    • Flexibility to provide support after normal business hours and respond to emergency work requests in critical situations
    • Responsible for the prompt resolution of all issues brought to the attention of the department and notifies senior leadership of non-routine problems and issues
    • Works with other infrastructure leaders to define, implement, and apply policies and procedures for operational efficiencies
    • Collects and tracks team metrics to ensure department goals are being met or exceeded
    • Forecast server, storage, and virtualization infrastructure needs for resource and budget planning
    • Maintain licensing compliance with vendors
    • Interacts with vendors for quotes, support, new technologies, and vendor relationship tasks
    • Completes other projects and duties as assigned

    Must Have Skills:

     

    • Minimum of 10 years’ technical experience of system installations and administration in a predominantly Windows Environment
    • Minimum of 5 years’ technical experience with VMware and Citrix
    • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a management role
    • Desire and drive to be “the person” to drive excellence from start to finish 
    • Expert knowledge with Windows Platform services
    • Advanced working knowledge and experience of Windows Server Systems, VMWARE, O365, Cisco Hardware, Pure Storage, and ERP Solutions
    • Excellent working knowledge of TCP/IP networking
    • The ability to see the “big picture” and scope requirements to the organization’s direction
    • Experience using proactive software and hardware monitoring solutions
    • Advanced troubleshooting skills to drive to root cause
    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, related field, or equivalent industry experience

    Preferred Skills:

     

    • Budget and forecast planning experience a plus
    • Interviewing and resource selection skills

    • Excellent communication skills with proven ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral form
    • Strong team and leadership skills
    • Maintains composure during all types of situations and is collaborative by nature
    • High standards of professionalism, consistently producing high quality results
